Promoting Oral Health at Sheffield Kidsworld

At Sheffield Kidsworld, we believe in providing our children with enriching and educational experiences that extend beyond traditional classroom learning. Recently, we had the privilege of welcoming a special guest to our preschool, a parent who is also a dentist. This event, part of our “My Community” theme, offered our children invaluable lessons on oral hygiene and the importance of dental care.

During the visit, the dentist parent captivated the children with a talk on how to properly care for their teeth and gums. He explained the significance of brushing and flossing, using engaging demonstrations to show the correct techniques. The children were fascinated by the interactive session and eagerly participated in hands on activities. They practiced brushing on dental models, reinforcing their understanding of the concepts discussed. This firsthand experience not only made learning fun but also left a lasting impression on the young minds.

At Sheffield Kidsworld, we are committed to fostering healthy habits in our children. By inviting professionals like our dentist parent to share their expertise, we enhance our curriculum with real-world knowledge. Our approach reflects our dedication to the holistic development of each child, emphasising the importance of health and wellness alongside academic growth.

Excessive screen time and mobile device addiction can stifle healthy development, interfering with sleep, social skills, and emotional well-being.    The Impact of Mobile Device Addiction on Children   Prolonged exposure to mobile screens can disrupt young minds in multiple ways. Over time, these patterns can undermine a child’s emotional and cognitive growth, leading to difficulties in concentration, problem-solving, and empathy.   In addition, the psychological toll of social comparison online may contribute to anxiety, low self-esteem, and even depression. By understanding...
